Businesses have not been spared either—a high-profile case in Australia saw a company lose $41 million after falling victim to a deepfake voice scam. Even U.S. government officials have been impersonated, prompting the FBI to issue public warnings about the importance of verifying identities through trusted channels. With global deepfake-related fraud losses projected to reach $40 billion by 2027, the scale of the threat is only growing.
